Though it might seem hard to justify spending money on something you “should” be able to do yourself, hiring a professional organizer will likely pay for itself in time savings and stress reduction. <p>It reminds me of the deal I made with John after we moved into our home. We had concentrated on repairing the have-to items — the leaky roof the previous owners had patched with a shower curtain and bricks (I kid you not) and the moldy plaster hanging off the lath in the back rooms. The interior rooms were being painted as we repaired each room. And, the exterior really needed to be painted too, but it was not at the top of John’s list and I was desperate to get it done. He didn’t want to hire someone to do something “we can do it ourselves.” But . . . . . . John hates to paint. I suggested he take on an extra job doing something he likes to do and we’d use the money from that job to pay for a painter. The house was painted within two weeks.</p>
