Working closely with the planning department, we secured all necessary approvals to make exterior updates to the home. To achieve a structurally sound, post-free garage opening, we engineered the space by encasing the original beam in steel. We then installed a low-maintenance, ebony aluminum, and tempered glass garage door, which dramatically enhances the home’s classic Eichler architecture.

Drawing inspiration from the owner’s vibrant, vintage school bus-yellow Fiat, we custom-matched the front door’s paint to the car – a bold nod to Eichler’s signature bright front doors. This cheerful yellow was also applied to the new trim above the garage door, subtly concealing the reinforcing steel and seamlessly integrating the modern updates with the home’s classic appeal.
