Make Room for Gathering
If it’s been a few years since you moved into your home, chances are the people in your life have changed. Maybe you’ve started a family or are soon to have an empty next. Or maybe your circle of friends has grown.
Nothing fills a house with life like getting together with your friends and family. If your home doesn’t easily accommodate large get-togethers, reconfiguring your space will make having company more enjoyable.
Often the place to start updating is the kitchen. It’s the heart of the home and a natural gathering place. Ideally, your kitchen should allow you to interact with people when prepping food and allow traffic to flow around you but not directly in your path.
Another popular relaxation area is your outdoor space. Your deck, patio, or backyard can be configured to make your outdoor space attractive and welcoming.
Projects you might consider this year could be a new deck or patio with zones for seating and conversation, for kids to play, and for grilling and cooking. If your space and budget allow, consider installing an outdoor kitchen.
