This master bedroom and bathroom remodel was designed as a private retreat for the owners of this Los Altos family home. Within the existing structure, the master bedroom and bath were gutted and space was "borrowed" from an adjacent room to allow for a more functional and comfortable flow. Rather than strict formality, the owners selected finishes that create a more casual (yet elegant) environment. The cherry vanity with honed travertine countertop creates the perfect backdrop for the ruby-colored glass vessel sinks. Pewter and ruby deco tiles accent the Travertine stone on backsplash, floor, and shower surround. A picture-framed cherry mirror and mouth blown glass sconces complete the vanity area. The bathroom also includes a private commode area and is directly adjacent to the his-and-hers walk-in closet. The new vaulted ceilings and well placed windows contribute to the feeling of spaciousness. In the bedroom, a wall of patio doors allows for a private view of the garden and access to the outdoor spa.
